AUL

AUL commenced trading in 1992, originally in the name of Cayford Insurance Services Limited (changing to Agency Underwriting Limited in 1996). AUL has established a number of personal lines and commercial insurance schemes that are underwritten through ABI Insurers or at Lloyd's of London. Policies under each scheme are sold through a UK-wide network of insurance intermediaries and claims handling authorities are sought from insurers and underwriters wherever possible to enable AUL to provide a full range of services to their intermediary network.

AUL has sought to offer policies to their agency network which provide an effective combination of competitive rates and comprehensive cover in each area of business. Excellent communication with intermediaries including personal visits, monthly newsletters and clarity of documentation are important values to AUL to ensure that intermediaries fully understand the nature of the AUL policy their clients purchase. Following this continual process of communication, AUL then relies upon the professional intermediary to assess the suitability of an AUL product for an individual customer's needs and to convey a full understanding of the extent of and limitations to cover.

AUL has always demonstrated an appetite for consistency, internal and external independent auditing and high levels of customer service most notably through ISO accreditation, which the company achieved in 1998, and it's authorisation and regulation by the Financial Services Authority. AUL believes it is essential that customers are treated fairly and are committed to ongoing investment in information technology and an evolutionary process to develop clarity in all areas.
